Working draft v0.4
Universal Manifest
I created Universal Manifest, an open specification for portable signed context that moves with people, agents, devices, assets, facilities, and infrastructure instead of being locked inside one system.
I started the Universal Manifest repository in February 2026 and opened its public history in May 2026.
I published the Universal Manifest v0.4 working draft in June 2026.
On 9 July 2026 I published the Universal Manifest v0.4 document set together with its conformance suite, in a public Apache-2.0 repository.
OMA3's Technical Working Group took Universal Manifest up for review for potential standardization, as OMA3 stated in May 2026.
I serve on the OMA3 Technical Working Group.

Tentpole implementation
Peers.social
Peers.social is the tentpole implementation of every PeerMesh module in one system, with a creative community and builders making a network of federated websites.

Open source initiative
PeerMesh
PeerMesh is an open source initiative whose repositories are owned collectively and added to by everyone, with modules submitted by third parties and by the internal team.
In 2026 my public commits landed across the PeerMesh core stack, its integration tests, the spatial fabric, the documentation, and an example module.

Metaverse Metadata Directory
I wrote the initial concept and the first versions of the Metaverse Metadata Directory, an open hub that maps how established 3D, spatial, identity, and content-authentication metadata standards fit together.
I set up the public MVMD standards repository and have committed implementation and documentation work to the MVMD repositories in the open.

Metaverse Standards Forum
I am a Working Group Chair of the Infrastructure Working Group at the Metaverse Standards Forum, the group formerly named Digital Asset Management.
I am also a Working Group Chair of the Forum's AI x Metaverse Working Group.
Alfred Tom of OMA3 chairs both of those groups with me, and Rouslan Ovtcharoff of Groovesetter chairs Infrastructure with us.
OMA3's June 2025 newsletter named me a co-chair of the Digital Asset Management group, as it was called then.

CHIP-0015 and CHIP-0021
Chia Improvement Proposals
I authored CHIP-0015, the NFT metadata standard for the Chia blockchain, which defines how a Chia NFT stores and references its data and builds on Schema.org.
I am lead author of CHIP-0021, the Fusion standard for composable NFTs, which lets assets be combined, split and remixed while their provenance survives every transformation.

XCH Foundation
I was one of five directors named at the launch of the XCH Foundation in December 2024, a nonprofit set up as a resource for the Chia community.

In May 2024 I presented NFT Metadata Standards for Composable Metaverse Assets to the Metaverse Standards Forum Digital Asset Management Working Group.
In June 2025 I was a featured speaker on OMA3 / MSF Connect: Vibe Coding Metaverse Infrastructure, an online session with Alfred Tom.
In October 2025 I presented GeoPose-Enabled Metaverse Interoperability on site at the GeoPose Summit, in its GeoPose in other Standards section; the Forum hosts the deck.

Distributed Creatives
I co-founded Distributed Creatives in 2024 with Matty Bovard.
I am the Executive Director of Distributed Creatives.
Distributed Creatives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Distributed Creatives exists to build public-good technology, advocacy, and partnerships for creator rights.
By August 2026 Distributed Creatives ran a live public organization site carrying its projects, charter, financial, membership, and donation surfaces.

SaveTheCreators
I am on the SaveTheCreators project team with Matty Bovard, and the project history records extensive work of mine across it.
SaveTheCreators argues creator rights across disciplines: consent, compensation, attribution, and preservation.
As of August 2026 the SaveTheCreators Hub published 521 sourced items across 43 creative disciplines and 5 issue areas.

Local Artist Network
Local Artist Network is a Distributed Creatives platform; I am on its team with Matty Bovard and the repository history records substantial work of mine in it.
Local Artist Network runs a live public browser catalog with artwork browsing, collections, places and schedules, and a display mode for venue screens.
Local Artist Network aims at community-level creator visibility, venue integration, and local revenue pathways, built around a Boulder venue network using displays, streaming, and events.

EverArchive
EverArchive is the Distributed Creatives preservation program and I am on its project team; it is in architecture design and partnership outreach, with prototype work later in the roadmap.
EverArchive is built to preserve the creative process, attribution, and cultural heritage over very long horizons, with a 200-plus-year design target.

2004 to 2018
Addictech
I co-founded Addictech in 2004 and ran it as CTO.
Addictech returned most of the money from every sale directly to the artist.
I ran Addictech Records and put out about a hundred releases; the first one was mine.
Addictech sold its catalogue as MP3, FLAC and WAV downloads.
Addictech sold music without copy protection while most stores still locked their files, and it sold lossless files at a time when almost nobody did.
I built Addictech's streaming radio service: people tagged the catalogue by hand, and those tags fed the recommendation engine.
I ran Addictech on Amazon S3 and EC2 early, when Amazon's own advisers struggled to help.
I built Addictech.com and its media platform in 2005, an ecommerce dashboard in 2008, Addictech Radio in 2012, and Addic.tech in 2018.

I write and perform electronic music and sound design as Neuronaut.
I moved to San Francisco in 2000 with the band and spent about twenty years in the Bay Area underground electronic scene, playing breakbeat, dubstep and drum and bass.

I built MusicRig, a physics-based musical instrument and composition tool where you assemble contraptions in AR, VR, mobile and desktop that sync with music hardware and software.

1992 to 1994
Where it started
I wrote a real-time seismic monitor in C on an Atari STE while I was a student at the University of Colorado, plotting earthquakes onto a colour topographic map as they happened and paging out alerts.
At the University of Colorado Boulder I wrote an earthquake monitoring kiosk in C on Atari ST hardware so geophysics researchers could review seismic events themselves.
The seismic monitor was still in use in 2014.
Its interface is in service at IRIS today.

1994 to 2004
Studios, agencies, and the early web
I co-founded Reel Illusions in Boulder in 1994 and delivered enterprise multimedia applications for airline, banking and private-sector clients.
At MPH Strategic Brand Communications in Boulder I was the in-house digital production expert, producing print-ready artwork, product visualizations and photo art direction, and running four-colour press checks.
As lead multimedia developer at Digital Creators I architected cross-platform playback engines for Mac and Windows and built the authoring tools that let educators assemble interactive content themselves.
I founded Lumeneo Studios in 2000 and have run it ever since as the vehicle for my client work, taking engagements from concept through deployment across web, mobile, XR, kiosk and desktop.
At Laszlo Systems I built the exemplar OpenLaszlo applications, shipped production fixes for enterprise customers and wrote the best-practice patterns for the platform's component model.

2013 to 2022
Leading engineering teams
At Agile Mind I led a fifteen-person international JavaScript team through the Flash-to-HTML5 migration of their curriculum platform, and I automated the conversion itself with JSFL scripting.
As CTO at MixMan from 2019 I hired and led a six-person full-stack team and delivered the Modify application ahead of schedule — a modular synth engine, a visual patch tool for building 3D visualisers, blockchain integration for NFTs, and a social web application.
As chief technology officer at MixMan I led the Modify platform, architecting the real-time audio engine on Core Audio and Audio Unit for iOS and Oboe for Android so people could record, remix and share music from a phone.

Ledgers and on-chain tooling
As chief technology officer at Green Wings Compassion I architected a donation ledger on Chia DataLayer with on-chain Merkle snapshot verification, so a donor could check that a disbursement actually happened.
I founded NFTr.pro and lead its development, building the reference implementation and minting tools behind the Chia NFT standards I authored.

What I build with
I work in C#, C++, ChiaLisp, Java, JavaScript, Objective-C, PHP, Python, Solidity and Swift, across Unity and Unreal, ARCore, ARKit, HoloLens and Magic Leap, and ship to Android, iOS, macOS, tvOS, Windows and Linux.
My longest-running tools are JavaScript and TypeScript, shell scripting, HTML and CSS, Python, SQL, C# and Unity, and I have been learning Swift and SwiftUI for Apple platforms.
I founded SumSet Tech in 2022 and run it as my consultancy for blockchain, spatial computing and AI work, from smart contracts and NFT infrastructure to Unity AR prototypes and local LLM stacks.

I have shipped sixty-two products between 1994 and 2022, each with its client, its agency, a ship date, a contract type, and a team size. Most of the named-brand work in my record reached the brand through a studio or an agency — Lumeneo Studios, Magnet Media, COG1, Semaphore Partners — rather than through a direct personal contract with the brand.

Disney-ABC Television Group
I designed and built "WipeOut Yourself" for Disney-ABC Television Group, a Facebook app that let fans drop themselves into personalised videos promoting ABC's WipeOut and share them.
That work went through the agency Magnet Media, with a team of ten.

Warner Music Group
For Warner Music Group I designed and engineered branded fan experiences and social campaigns around new releases.
Through Lumeneo Studios I built social applications around Warner Bros. Music releases for Miranda Lambert, Taking Back Sunday, Mike Jones, Talib Kweli and Al Gore's Live Earth.

2011 to 2012
Autodesk Research
I prototyped the primary console for Autodesk Research's Project Cyborg, turning computational design workflows into a cloud interface a designer could actually drive.
The prototypes were built in WebGL and delivered through the agency COG1 between June and December 2012, with a team of five.

Microsoft Live
I contributed front-end engineering to Microsoft Live web properties on contract, implementing interface components and holding cross-browser consistency across distributed teams.

Science and health
I built a HoloLens medical visualisation application through Viscira for the AbbVie Humira brand, rendering the drug's mechanism of action in 3D with gesture, gaze and voice control for clinicians.
For NutritionQuest I wrote the UX and technical specifications for their subscription health platform and guided the developers who built the assessments and dashboards on top of it.
I delivered the Plate Overshoot Model for the United States Geological Survey through Lumeneo Studios, from October 2017 to March 2018, with a team of two.

Retail, museums, and public places
I built the in-store kiosk for Behr's ColorSmart paint selection system, which went out to 1,600 stores.
Other systems in the record: Seismic Monitor for IRIS, Nature of Memory for the National Institutes of Health, States of America for PBS, Virtual Office for McGraw-Hill, HyperPort for Mall of America, a lobby kiosk for NBC, and an Everest web experience for MacGillivray Freeman Films.

Interactive storytelling and games
With Instigate.ai I designed and prototyped authoring tools that turned vlog footage into interactive storytelling agents, and wrote the technical documentation behind their patent filings.
On a short contract with eMotion Studios I shipped new features for the "5 A Day" nutrition game and debugged an inherited Unity codebase back to cross-platform parity.

Quill is my working name for a storytelling engine: it learns a storytelling style from any input, takes feedback as it goes, makes variations of a story in any style, and stitches a person into a story, from interactive media to personal advertising.

Open Intent Layer
I am building the Open Intent Layer, an open standard for a shared pool of published intent: anyone can express an intent and get offered solutions back. It is a thin, portable coordination layer, so independent parties build discovery, matching, trust and fulfilment above the standard instead of being captured inside one platform.

I built Fusion, the technology behind FusionZoo for the MonkeyZoo project on Chia, which merges NFTs and supports peer-to-peer trading.
